“Yo, Yarok! - Going Green with the ‘J.” The project aims to provide teens with a one day opportunity to come together, learn about the environment and ways in which we as a community and individuals can improve the environment. As well, during the course of the day teens will participate not only in educational programming on ecology but will also volunteer in different sites throughout New York which work to protect and strengthen the environment.

We will have age-appropriate activities for our 3-year-old through teen students. These will take place throughout the Tulsa community on April 19th. In the morning (9:30am-noon) we will meet at Temple Israel, and the projects will include: collecting supplies for a local elementary school, cleaning up a local park, visiting a fire station and donating toys to it, volunteering at the Jewish retirement center, and knitting blankets for Linus. From 1:30pm-4pm, our teens are organizing a basketball tournament at the JCC to benefit Nothing But Nets.
